ABOUT ABOUT

Margaritas Podridas is a band with influences of alternative rock, shoegaze and punk from Hermosillo, Sonora, México formed by Carolina Enriquez (bass guitar and vocals), Rafael Armenta (guitar, drums) and Esli Meuly (guitar). The band was formed in 2015 by Carolina and the former guitarist Sofia Leon, together with Rafael the band started to perform at a local level in their hometown, Hermosillo. Later, Esli Meuly joined the band as a guitarist and they released their first album “Porcelain Mannequin” in 2018, in which Alfonso Lopez recorded guitars after Sofia left the band. With this new band lineup they started touring around Mexico and released their most recent album “Margaritas Podridas” in 2021, which led them to perform at international festivals such as Ruido Fest (Chicago), Freakout Festival (Seattle), This Ain’t No Picnic (Pasadena), and record a live session for the Seattle Radio, KEXP. In 2022, the band released their latest single “No Quiero Ser Madre”, with Seattle-based label Suicide Squeeze, and have been touring throughout Mexico and United States.

With upbeat rock sounds akin to The B52’s and Blondie, Biblioteka marries a blend of grunge, punk, and garage to create an array of upbeat punk songs and wistful rock music. Formed from the ashes of a disbanded project, singer/bassist Mary Robins and guitarist Hexx Rodriguez began writing for Biblioteka in the mid-2010’s. The name pays homage to Robins’ Ukrainian heritage, and Hexx’s Mexican roots – a name with a unifying meaning through their respective backgrounds.
