ABOUT ABOUT

2017 Oscar nominee for Best Animated Feature and Grand Jury Prize winner at Cannes Film Festival! This Swiss stop-motion claymation is a compassionate coming-of-age tale set in an orphanage, with a stellar voiceover cast that includes Nick Offerman (PARKS & REC), Will Forte, Amy Sedaris and Ellen Page.

"Though its protagonists have seen a lot, this film is about resilience, not trouble, about an unlooked-for capacity for community and a youthful ability to put everything behind them and embrace a brighter future." - Los Angeles Times

"Never sacrifices what’s true for what’s trite and easier to sell. This is animation as an art form, inspiring and indelible." - Rolling Stone

"A deft work of empathy, and unlike a few of its fellow animation Oscar contenders, it works on a more intimate scale." - New York Magazine

"So warm, so alive, that we forget we're watching cartoon figures. And when they belong to us, they're no longer orphans." - Time

After his mother’s sudden death, a boy who insists his name is Zucchini is befriended by a police officer, Raymond, who accompanies him to his new foster home, filled with other orphans his age. At first he struggles to find his place in this at times strange and hostile environment. But with Raymond’s help and his newfound friends, Zucchini eventually learns to trust and love, as he searches for a new family of his own. Not Rated (PG-ish, Parental Guidance suggested). 70 mins.
