It's set in Willits, it's got '80s action star Dolph Lundgren, a scruffy drifter named Opossum played by one of the Culkin brothers, meth-addicted weed farmers, an "ominous convenience store clerk" obsessed with Bigfoot, unlucky teens just looking for some hot springs, and maybe even aliens (or are they?). Of course this new horror-comedy sounded like the perfect film to book for Halloween month at The Miniplex!
Based on their acclaimed SXSW short "Welcome to Willits: Sundown," the Ryan brothers wrote this film collaboratively while one of them was in federal prison on cannabis related charges, mailing the script back and forth and meeting in the prison's visiting center to brainstorm ideas. This is a filmmaker Q & A session you don't want to miss!
$12 in advance or $15 at the door includes a glass of champagne. Doors at 5 pm. Film starts at 6 pm. Get there early to choose a seat! Dress up or wear a costume if you like (as long as it fits in a theatre seat and doesn't block anyone's view).
